Toner cartridges
Toner cartridges has had a surprisingly strong year in the UK print channel to date, not because printing suddenly exploded, but possibly because businesses have become far more deliberate about how they print. As hybrid work has settled into a predictable rhythm and office refresh cycles returned, toner moved back into focus as a critical recurring purchase. For many organisations, the conversation has shifted away from printer hardware and toward running costs, cartridge yield, supply reliability and sustainability credentials.
High-yield cartridges gained significant traction during 2025 as organisations looked to reduce cost-per-page and minimise intervention, while subscription replenishment services and automated supply models continued to expand. OEM cartridges still hold the largest share of the market, but compatible and remanufactured alternatives are growing as buyers become more comfortable balancing cost savings with print quality and reliability. Looking ahead, toner is becoming as
much a sustainability story as a print one. UK organisations are placing greater weight on cartridge recycling, circular supply chains and ESG compliance, with manufacturers reporting rising participation in recycling programmes and stronger demand for environmentally responsible consumables. At the same time, AI-driven fleet management, predictive replenishment and managed print services are quietly reshaping how toner is purchased and deployed.
