EKM GLOBAL

Print in focus EKM Global is now focusing solely on managed print services and MPS software delivery around the world as the managed print services market continues to evolve.

Demand for managed print services (MPS) continues to grow and EKM Global has worked hard over the years to establish its reputation in the market. Now, EKM Global has announced that the company will be focusing solely on MPS and MPS software delivery, as it looks to further that reputation internationally. Previously, EKM Global also provided subscription-based TAS software development services, but these have been absorbed into TD SYNNEX, which owns the shares of EKM Global – although the company remains a separate legal entity. The change has caused little change to either business. As Ian Silvester, director of product management and customer care at EKM Global, notes, the teams were split previously anyway, but it does mean that EKM Global has gained some more full-time staff to focus on testing and security. “TD SYNNEX has couple of finance programmes, so it made complete sense to move all of those into one place and leave us purely MPS-focused,” says Ian. “Customers will notice absolutely no difference to the service we provide.” Focus on growth Now, EKM Global is focused on growing its MPS sales to customers in the UK and around the world. Indeed, EKM Global has had some notable success recently in the US, according to Ian.

software platforms that can save them money than there is in some other territories. Ian adds that EKM Global is also growing strongly in Latin America, where demand for MPS and MPS software is taking off. In more established markets, such as the UK, Europe and Asia, growth is slower, but it is growing nonetheless. Support and scale Part of the attraction of EKM Global is that, especially on the managed software side, they focus on enterprise customers and support more than some of their competitors do, which is something that customers value, Ian says. “We’re winning a lot of business based on the level of support that we give to our customers,” says Ian. “The Insight product is an enterprise product, and it can scale massively. It may not be the flashiest software in the world on first look, but it will properly deliver accurate data for our customers while using less resources to manage and that is what they want.” Ian is now focusing on the future and with the MPS market continuing to grow as the print market evolves and moves more to cloud, he is confident that the business will continue to thrive.
